Michael Griffie was born at Hutzel Women’s Hospital in Detroit, Michigan in 1983. He was raised by Robert & Vera Griffie, a special education teacher and school social worker, and proud Detroit Public Schools employees.
Michael attended Wayne State University on a football scholarship where he earned four varsity letters. He went on to earn a degree in English. After Wayne State, Michael became a high school English teacher.
